Guy Porter from Bellbird Springs visits Laytons

43 Guy Porter from Bellbird Springs visited the Laytons office earlier today for a tasting of the current release 2010 Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.

Bellbird Springs is based in the Waipara Valley which is about an hours drive from Christchurch. Due to its unique terroir, the Sauvignon Blanc is a less ripe style than Sauvignon blancs from Marlborough. It is made in an old world style, including being matured in old oak barriques, and has plenty of elegance and power. The wine is stunning!

We also sampled the latest release Pinot Noir, which has a fantastic savoury edge to it and is a lot more refined and elegant than Pinot Noirs from other areas in New Zealand. Again, a fantastic wine!
