For a long time and indeed still for many people, the modern Lebanese wine industry was and is Château Musar. This winery, planted to Bordeaux varietals, continued to produce its own delicious and idiosyncratic wine through 20 years of civil war, dodging artillery in the vineyards. There are now several top class estates here, including Massaya and Château Kefraya, all of who owe a debt of thanks to Serge Hochar and his unique determination. |
