In the early 1990’s Bulgarian wine seemed destined to ‘break’ the UK market, however uncertainties over land ownership and poor logistics put a brake on the industry’s development. With these problems (mostly) behind them, it is perhaps time to look again at a country with a fine climate for wine production, low costs and surprisingly modern facilities.
